How are City Shapes city maps made?

The start of our city shapes begins with obtaining up-to-date map data. It starts with our designer, Tim. Once he has acquired the data, he checks the lines for errors and reinforces them where necessary. Importantly for our lasers, he ensures that the lines connect properly so that no streets drop out unexpectedly.

Once the design is completed, it is actually tested with our laser machines.

In our own workshop in Rotterdam, all wall decorations are crafted with great care. From design to finished product, we manage the entire process!

For our production, we use multiple high-quality laser cutters. Laser cutting is a processing technique that allows us to perfectly cut our wall decorations from wood. With our lasers, we can achieve extremely precise cuts with minimal material loss. In addition to laser cutting, our products are also carefully sanded, treated, and packaged for a perfect final product.

How do you hang the wooden city map on the wall?

Each order includes a simple guide for hanging your city map on the wall. With the included steel nails, you can easily mount the map. The steel nails can be tapped into the corners of the map, but be careful not to go through the material. The wooden city map can then be hung from these nails.

Sustainable wood types

All wood types used are 100% sustainable and PEFC certified, meaning they come from sustainably managed forests.
