Every product we create is designed by us. That’s why our production process actually starts with the design. Our designer, Tim, sketches various products daily, from skylines to 3D puzzles!
All our products (about 7,000 different variations) are available on our webshop. Once an order comes in, we get to work processing it as quickly as possible. First, we check our inventory system to see if the product is already ready or if it still needs to be made.
The line drawings can be loaded into our laser machine, which calculates the fastest way to cut the design. At the back of the machine, there’s a large laser tube that produces a powerful laser beam. This laser beam is directed to the wood panel using small mirrors. The laser cuts the wood with precision, down to a tenth of a millimeter!
Since the laser beam burns through the wood, the material needs to be finished afterward. We sand the wood, treat it with oil if necessary, and ensure that the product is securely fitted into the frame.
The City Shape is ready for shipping! We typically pack the product in a protective outer box and a shipping box to ensure it’s well-protected during transit. We use sustainable shipping materials whenever possible.
